It appears that electric scooters under Rs 1 lakh are now the perfect choice for city dwellers looking to save money. These are six of the top electric scooters currently available to buy with full specifications on cost, batteries, range, and power output.

Ola S1 X

Ola S1 X is offered in multiple variants but 3kWh variant costs Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom). It features a 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It has an estimated range of 176 km per charge depending on riding mode and condition. The S1 X 3kWh electric scooter has a peak hub motor rated at 7 kW, which translates to around 70-80 Nm of torque in this segment.

Bajaj Chetak C2501

At Rs 95,802 (ex-showroom), the most affordable Bajaj Chetak is the C2501 variant. It is equipped with a 2.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. An IDC range of 113 km on a full charge. The hub-mounted electric motor is rated at 2.2 kW power. It provides torque like all other hub motors in this category of 20 Nm.

Hero Vx2 Go

The Hero Vx2 Go is offered in multiple variants but 3.4 kWh variant costs Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). It has a 3.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Under testing conditions similar to IDC, Hero boasts of a claimed 142 km of range. The Vx2 Go 3.4 is equipped with a hub motor of 5 kW of peak power and 60-70 Nm torque in the equivalent range for this category.

TVS Orbiter

The TVS Orbiter V1 is one of the multiple variants offered by Orbiter that has an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 96,900. It comes with a lithium-ion battery pack of 1.8 kWh. Claimed range is 92 km per charge. On the peak end, the hub motor powers up to 2.5 kW, and the torque is somewhere around 30 Nm. TVS’ Orbiter claims to be a straightforward commuter e-scooter that focuses on reliability, comfort and the company’s excellent post-sales support.

Ather Rizta S

The Ather Rizta S 123 km variant is among multiple variants offered in Rizta S. It is priced at Rs 94,549 (ex-showroom). It features a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery. Providing an IDC range of 123 km on a single charge. Thus becomes one of the more efficient scooters in this category. The output from the motor will be 4.3 kW at peak, while the hub motor torque will generally fall in the 22 Nm equivalent range. The Rizta S has been designed for comfort and efficiency. Its claimed 123 km range makes it highly practical for city use below Rs 1 lakh.
