A change in leadership has been announced by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) for the term from 2026 to 2027. Sriram Viji, MD, Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., has been appointed as the new President of ACMA. While Anjali Singh, Executive Chairperson of ANAND Group and Gabriel India, has been appointed President-Designate.

The change in leadership was announced on September 3, 2026, in New Delhi. Which is happening in a period when India’s automotive component industry faces challenges such as evolving global supply chains, geopolitical instability and the quick development of mobility technology innovations.

Priorities for ACMA leadership

ACMA has also named Anjali Singh as President-Designate of the organization. Anjali Singh is currently the Executive Chairperson of ANAND Group and Gabriel India.

Alongside Viji’s promotion, Anjali Singh’s appointment further enhances the ACMA’s senior management team with experienced professionals from within the industry. This will be particularly important for automotive component makers. That needs to keep abreast with changes in technology and requirements in both domestic and foreign markets.

$80.2 billion Turnover for Indian Auto-Components Industry

The transition into leadership is happening as the auto-components industry in India maintains its significance. ACMA consists of more than 1,064 manufacturers, with a total contribution exceeding 90% of the turnover of the organised sector’s auto-components industry.

According to ACMA:

  • FY2025 industry turnover – $80.2 billion
  • Exports of auto-components – $22.9 billion
  • Surplus in trade – $500 million

These numbers reflect the growing significance of the industry within the country’s manufacturing and export landscape.

India’s Components Industry Embarks on a New Journey

Viji takes over as the automotive industry faces a period of significant transformation. Electric and connected cars have brought new opportunities for this industry. But factors like supply chain robustness and sustainability have become crucial for competitive advantage.

Under the leadership of Viji and with Singh being appointed President-Designate, ACMA will seem to be concentrating on developing the manufacturing ability of India and also making the suppliers from the country more competitive internationally.
