Ultraviolette Automotive has unveiled the plans to set up its new factory. BIGGA (Big Global Ambition) factory at SIPCOT Industrial Park at Shoolagiri in Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The factory will cater to the manufacturing needs of Ultraviolette’s soon-to-launch Tesseract electric scooter. As well as future electric motorcycles and scooters for India and overseas markets.

The announcement was made in Bengaluru on September 10, 2026. The factory will begin producing its products in phases from 250,000 units per annum to 500,000 units p.a. based on the scalability of its infrastructure.

Facility to Manufacture Tesseract Electric Scooter

This new factory will be the core manufacturing site of Ultraviolette’s upcoming Tesseract electric scooter. It will also support Ultraviolette’s upcoming range of products which include sports, crossover, cruiser, street and scooter segments.

The expansion will go parallel to the manufacturing factory of Ultraviolette already set up in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is estimated that the project will generate around 2,000 jobs in its initial phase and will see more generation of jobs in the next five years.

The Government of Tamil Nadu will assist in the allocation of land for the facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri. According to Ultraviolettete, the reason behind choosing Hosur is due to the presence of an existing automotive ecosystem, logistics benefits. Its proximity to R&D center of the company located in Bengaluru and its suppliers.

Industry 4.0 Manufacturing Technology

The BIGGA Factory of Ultraviolettete will be designed keeping in view the future of Industry 4.0 manufacturing facility. It will utilize the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) for real-time tracking and traceability of production processes. Along with digital lean manufacturing and quality management. Some other advanced automation technologies include:

  • Robots for sorting, welding and assembly.
  • Assembly fool-proofing systems.
  • Inspection systems using vision systems.
  • Digital production and quality management systems.
  • Test track for testing vehicles before dispatching.

Increasing the Scope of Global Electric Mobility Aspirations

The BIGGA Factory will be the backbone of industrial production for the future stage of growth for Ultraviolettete. The firm plans to create electric-vehicle development and manufacturing technology in India that could match up internationally. With vehicles made in India and exported worldwide.

Ultraviolettete currently exports its motorcycles to 19 countries in Europe. Claims to have been the first Indian electric manufacturer to get European approval for its motorcycles. With the BIGGA Factory, the firm plans to increase capacity and prepare itself for further electric two-wheelers, with Tesseract being the key product.
