Registrations Surge by 66% in September

The registrations of GEML’s electric two-wheeler have grown by 66% from the total 1,597 units registered in August 2026. In the corresponding period, there was an increase of 33% in the electric two-wheeler segment, which resulted in 57,505 units.

Also, GEML has been able to improve its market share by 0.9 percentage points to rise from 3.7% in August to 4.6% in September 1-9. This reflects that there is a higher growth for GEML in the period than the growth of the market itself.

This has been continued from the good results seen in Q1 FY2027. The registrations of electric two-wheelers by GEML saw a 101% year-over-year growth in Q1 FY2027, whereas the market share rose to 5.6% in June 2026 from 4.3% in FY2026.

Improving Fundamentals

As the company looks to grow in terms of volume, Greaves Electric Mobility is also looking to improve the fundamentals of the business. This will include improving the cash burn, efficiency and economics of the company as it gears up to become profitable.

Growth in the company has also been fueled by investments in R&D, technology, retail expansion, financing and consumer experience. Products of the company have been designed according to the "Built for Bharat" approach, catering to various uses and price points.

Ampere Electric Scooter Portfolio

Currently, the electric two-wheelers portfolio of GEML consists of the Ampere Nexus EX+, Magnus Neo, Reo Vyb and Magnus GMax.

  • The Ampere Nexus EX+ can be described as the high-performing electric scooter.
  • The Magnus Neo has been developed for daily commuting in cities.
  • The Reo Vyb is a new addition to the portfolio of Ampere and is a low-budget scooter.
  • The Magnus GMax has been developed for families and is the recipient of the award of “Family Scooter of the Year”.

GEML continues to develop its distribution and financing network in order to make the purchasing process easier for its clients. In terms of its product portfolio, Ampere offers both personal and commuter scooters.

Market Momentum

The rise of GEML to become part of the top five firms happened after a continuous growth of volumes and market share. The 101% year on year growth in Q1 FY2027 followed by good September results indicates that the company is becoming more relevant in the electric scooter market of India.

ELCTRIK Speaks

The presence of Greaves Electric Mobility amongst the top five manufacturers of electric two-wheelers in India. It is evidence of the company’s growing success within a highly competitive industry. Surpassing Ola Electric in early September proves that constant product innovation and good execution can lead to tangible results. Yet the ability to stay in this position will be contingent upon the company’s sustained performance, profitability, and customer base expansion. Should GEML continue building its capabilities, it could become an even more powerful player within the Indian electric vehicle market shift.
