Smarten Power Systems has confirmed that Ranjit Singh has been appointed as the company's new Chief Operating Officer (COO). This move strengthens the existing leadership at the company as the organization readies itself for the next stage of development. Singh's confirmation was done by the company's Board of Directors on July 14, 2026. He is set to take office from August 1, 2026.

The change of leadership takes place as Smarten works to increase manufacturing capacity. The product range in view of increasing demands for power backup and renewable energy products. Singh's vast experience in manufacturing and operations will play an important role in increasing efficiency. It will help in enhancing supply chain processes for the growth of the company in domestic and foreign markets.

Familiar Face with More Responsibilities

Ranjit Singh is not a stranger to Smarten. Prior to being appointed as the COO, he was the Consultant – Vice President, Operations at the company. During his tenure in this role, he actively participated in making improvements in the manufacturing processes and procedures of Smarten.

With his appointment as Chief Operating Officer. Singh will be responsible for overseeing all the operational aspects of the organization, which include:

  • Supply chain management
  • Process improvements in manufacturing
  • Execution of the strategic operations of the company

Some of the major accomplishments of Singh during his tenure at Smarten include. Steering the process of moving Smarten's battery manufacturing facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. Its current status is that of in-house manufacturing. This was the process started by Smarten post its IPO.

This process was managed by him effectively. Such that all the necessary systems, workforce, and processes were implemented successfully to facilitate manufacturing. Being successful in this major assignment. Singh will now need to optimize the existing facilities as well as launch the upcoming manufacturing plant of Smarten.

Singh, who possesses over 52 years of professional experience. He has worked in various fields such as power electronics, telecom power, engineering, manufacturing, and renewable energy. Prior to his appointment with Smarten, Singh served in leading roles in various companies. Such as Delta Power Solutions India, Benning SMC Power Systems, Ascom (India), Vrinda Nano Technologies, Agmetal India, JCT Electronics, UPTRON Powertronics, USHA Rectifier Corporation India, Bhurji Electronics, and Eastern Electronics.

His extensive knowledge of the industry is expected to assist Smarten in optimizing operations and scaling up production to cope with rising market demand.
