The Bengaluru-based startup Simple Energy has made an official announcement about the name of its first family electric scooter, the Simple Wave. The unveiling of the new scooter in India is scheduled to take place on September 2, 2026. It will mark the entrance of Simple Energy into the Indian largest segment of two-wheelers.

Reasons for Simple Energy to Make the Wave Scooter

So far, Simple Energy was known for its performance electric scooters. One, OneS, and the fast Ultra. Clearly, the launch of the Wave scooter is an attempt of the company to shift. Towards more user-friendly options for families, students, and daily commuters that care more about convenience than speed.

As many analysts argue, it is quite a smart step for Simple Energy. Since the Indian market of electric scooters is at the very beginning of its development. While the number of family scooters constitutes the main share of India's sales of two-wheelers.

Most of the estimates put the Simple Wave’s on-road price between ₹1.30 lakh and ₹1.50 lakh. Depending upon variants and battery options. This puts the Simple Wave in the category that competes against:
