Ather has launched the Konarc electric scooter in India, with prices starting at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The company unveiled the scooter at its Annual Community Day on August 31, 2026.

The Konarc is currently available in three variants: S 100, S 125 and S 161. The numbers indicate their claimed IDC range. Ather has also announced Z variants with 125km and 161km IDC range, while a 200km version is planned.

Ather Konarc: Battery and Performance

The Konarc S 100 uses a 2.1kWh battery and produces 4kW and 16Nm. The S 125 and S 161 use 2.7kWh and 3.5kWh batteries, respectively, with both producing 4.7kW and 16Nm.

All three variants have a claimed top speed of 70kph. Their claimed TrueRange figures are 80km for the S 100, 100km for the S 125 and 130km for the S 161. Ather has also confirmed a Konarc version with a 200km IDC range, although details of this version have not been announced.

Ather Konarc: Charging and Range

The Konarc comes with a 450W onboard charger. It can be used with a 900W off-board charger to provide a combined charging capacity of 1.35kW.

With the standard charger, the claimed 0-80 percent charging times are:

  • S 100: 4 hours
  • S 125: 4 hours 30 minutes
  • S 161: 5 hours 40 minutes

With the combined charging setup, these figures reduce to two hours, 2 hours 25 minutes and 3 hours 10 minutes, respectively. Ather claims charging gains of 13km in 10 minutes for the S 100 and 15km in 10 minutes for the S 125 and S 161.

Ather Konarc Uses Ather's EL Platform

The Konarc is based on Ather's new EL platform, which has been developed using 26 lakh kilometres of field data. The platform uses a new chassis, powertrain and electronics architecture. Ather says reducing the number of components can make assembly 15 percent faster and reduce periodic servicing time.

The scooter gets 90mm of front suspension travel and 100mm at the rear. It has a 1,352mm wheelbase, with a 14-inch front wheel and 12-inch rear wheel. The S 100 uses drum brakes at both ends. The S 125 and S 161 get a 220mm front disc brake and a 130mm rear drum brake.

Ather Konarc: Features and Technology

The Konarc has 31 litres of underseat storage, an 18W USB Type-C port and an underseat lamp. The S 100 gets a 4.2-inch DeepView display, while the higher variants use a 7-inch DeepView display.

Other features include Park Assist reverse and AutoHold. The scooter also supports Ather Connect functions such as theft and tow alerts, ride statistics, Find My Scooter and remote monitoring of charging status. The Konarc also supports over-the-air software updates.

Ather Konarc Z Gets Additional Features

The Z variants add features including Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS) and MagicKey. AEBS uses electronic control during braking and is designed to reduce stopping distance and rear-wheel lock-up.

MagicKey allows the rider to unlock the boot through the Ather app. The Konarc Z 161 also gets an AutoPop function that can open the boot automatically.

The Z variants also support Google Maps and WhatsApp on the dashboard. Cricket scores can be displayed when the scooter is stationary.

Ather Konarc Price and Deliveries

The Konarc S 100 is priced at Rs 1 lakh, while the S 125 costs Rs 1.22 lakh and the S 161 costs Rs 1.45 lakh, all ex-showroom Bengaluru.

The company has announced that deliveries will begin in September. Prices for the Konarc Z 125 and Z 161 have not yet been announced.
