Only four months into its journey in India. Vietnamese carmaker VinFast has achieved more than 1,000 sales of electric vehicles. It's safe to say that it's attracting plenty of attention in the EV market scenario. The company achieved this milestone in the first week of January 2026, and it came on the back of robust sales in December. With the brand being very focused on providing affordable SUV options in the Indian EV market. It saw overall sales double and reach 1.76 lakh units.
Swift Rise to 1,000 Units
The company logged approximately 830 deliveries in 2025 after the launch. Along with 200 more in the first 12 days of the year. This positions VinFast at the top, only after Tata Motors, Mahindra, but ahead of others who have entered the market. Their offering in the pricing segment between 16-25 lakhs, production in the country. Along with a rapidly increasing network, contributed to this success.
Launch Highlights: VF6 and VF7 Break Ground
VinFast launched its compact SUV VF6 and mid-size SUV VF7 on September 6, 2022. The bookings for the same commenced in July. The key features that lured customers include:
- VF 6: It begins at a price of ₹16.49 lakh. It has an urban-friendly size and comes with
- VF7: From ₹20.89 lakh; 70.8kWh model has 450km (FWD) and 431km (AWD) range
These models are intended for families who want value without cutting back on technology or range.
Dealer and Service Network Expands Rapidly
But VinFast didn’t have to wait for a long time as there are already more than 25 outlets and 80+ service points in major cities. Even the charging stations are not far behind. The range anxiety experienced by the buyers is going down as the charging stations are coming up too.
Outshining rivals in key months
VinFast momentum stacked well:
- November 2025: 357 units versus Tesla's 48-a sixfold edge.
- December: 375 sales, outselling BMW and Kia in pure EVs.
This shake-up challenges the old guard, as India pushes for 30% EV adoption by 2030.
