Ultraviolette Automotive has announced that the Tesseract electric scooter will launch in India in January 2027. The electric scooter was first unveiled in March 2025, with bookings opening soon after its debut.
According to the company, more than 70,000 bookings have been registered for the Tesseract so far. The extended development timeline will allow the manufacturer to incorporate additional updates and customer-driven improvements before commercial deliveries begin.
New 100V Electrical Architecture Introduced
A key change for the production-spec Tesseract is the adoption of a new 100V electrical architecture. Ultraviolette states that the updated platform is designed to support faster charging, improved energy efficiency, and better thermal management.

The company also says the higher-voltage setup allows for more compact and lighter electrical components, including the charger and motor controller. The revised platform is expected to contribute to improved performance and load-carrying capability.
Ultraviolette Tesseract: Performance and Features
The Tesseract is expected to be powered by a 15kW electric motor and is claimed to have a top speed of 125 kmph.
Feature highlights announced by the company include:
- Dual-channel ABS
- Traction control system
- Dynamic stability control
- Hill-hold assist
- Park assist
- Radar-based blind spot alerts
- 7-inch touchscreen display
These features position the Tesseract in the premium electric scooter segment.
Changes Based on Customer Feedback
Following its unveiling, Ultraviolette conducted roadshows and customer engagement events across more than 30 cities in India. Feedback collected during these interactions has influenced several updates to the production model.
The company has revised the scooter's ergonomics with:
- A wider seat featuring higher-density foam
- A redesigned floorboard with additional space
- Improved accessibility for riders of varying heights
- Updates to the rider interface and overall practicality
Ultraviolette Tesseract: Battery Options and Range
The Ultraviolette Tesseract is expected to be offered with three battery pack options:
- 3.5kWh

At the time of unveiling, Ultraviolette had indicated a maximum claimed range of up to 261 km on a single charge. However, the company did not specify which battery variant the figure corresponds to.
The scooter will also use a newly developed battery management system (BMS), which the company says is smaller and lighter than the system used in its existing electric motorcycles.
Ultraviolette Tesseract: Pricing Details
When the Tesseract was first unveiled, Ultraviolette announced a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. The company had also offered an introductory price of Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers.
Elctrik Speaks
The decision to extend the development cycle suggests Ultraviolette is using the additional time to incorporate hardware and ergonomic changes before bringing the Tesseract to market. The introduction of a 100V architecture is among the notable technical updates announced so far and could differentiate the scooter from existing offerings in the segment. However, its real-world impact on charging performance, efficiency, and ownership experience will become clearer closer to the scooter's launch and eventual deliveries in 2027.
