TVS Motor Company announced the launch of the Orbiter V1 electric scooter in India. The company also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model across its electric scooter portfolio. With the new model, the company’s electric scooter range now includes two variants in the Orbiter lineup: the V1 with a 1.8 kWh battery and the V2 with a 3.1 kWh battery.

TVS Orbiter V1: Pricing and Battery-as-a-Service Model

The Orbiter V1 is available starting at ₹49,999 (ex-showroom Delhi) under the Battery-as-a-Service model. Customers who choose to buy the scooter without the battery subscription can purchase it at ₹84,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Under the BaaS system, the battery cost is separated from the vehicle price. Customers subscribe to battery usage through monthly payment plans, which start at ₹862 per month. The plan also includes an extended warranty of up to five years or 70,000 km.

The company said the model is intended to allow buyers to manage the initial purchase price separately from battery usage costs.

TVS Orbiter V1: Range, Charging and Performance

The Orbiter V1 is powered by a 1.8 kWh battery pack and offers an IDC-certified range of 86 km. The scooter supports charging from 0 to 80 percent in approximately two hours and 20 minutes.

It includes two riding modes: Eco and Power and regenerative braking. The scooter also comes with features such as hill hold assist, cruise control, and parking assist.

TVS Orbiter V1: Connectivity and Features

The scooter includes a connected mobile application that allows riders to check battery status and odometer readings remotely. Other connectivity features include call and SMS alerts, navigation support, and software updates delivered over-the-air.

Safety-related alerts such as crash detection, fall alerts, geo-fencing, and anti-theft notifications are also integrated into the system.

TVS Orbiter V1: Design and Storage

According to the company, the scooter includes an 845 mm flat seat designed for rider and pillion seating and a 290 mm footboard. It also offers 34 litres of under-seat storage, which can accommodate two helmets.

The model features an LED headlamp with visor and a coloured LCD display that shows ride information and incoming call alerts.
