The Tesla Model Y Premium Rear Wheel Drive 2026 variant has been launched in India. It marks the expansion of the Model Y line-up that comes with additional features like a better cabin, improved technology, and increased practicality. The new version of the model was introduced on 29th May 2026, with deliveries scheduled to commence from July 2026.
The Model Y Premium RWD model is available at a price tag of ₹50,89,000. This is another addition to the line-up that is expected to attract buyers because of its premium cabin, long-range ability, and performance. As per Tesla, this model is the latest version of the best-selling EV worldwide until March 2026.
Interior Upgrades
The cabin upgrades are among the key highlights of this new variant, according to the auto major. In this model, the interior design includes an all-black interior design, fully blacked out headliner, and premium trim. Additionally, there is a Zen grey option for the interior of the cabin.
Some other noteworthy cabin and technological features include:
- 16-inch touchscreen screen located at the front seat with higher resolution and fast responsiveness
- Ease of access to vehicle functionalities and features like navigation system and infotainment options
- Power folding seats along with accommodating five people
Tesla claims to offer 2,138 liters of total storage capacity in this model, making it suitable for city usage as well as longer road journeys.
Performance and Range
The Model Y Premium RWD is not only limited to design enhancements. According to Tesla, this model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour within 5.9 seconds. Moreover, the maximum WLTP range on a single battery charge is around 500 kilometers.
These features enable the Model Y Premium RWD to have sufficient performance to compete among premium electric vehicles along with providing reasonable range for both daily commuting and long-distance drives. Efficiency and low cost of usage in comparison to petrol/diesel SUVs is another key highlight of this Tesla model.

Ownership and cost
Additionally, Tesla is providing financial assistance for the Model Y Premium RWD. Tesla says that one can start paying ₹39,990 per month as EMI along with an advance of ₹6,00,000, which is dependent on the financier's approval.
