Tata Motors has shared another teaser of the upcoming Sierra EV, revealing that the electric SUV is likely to feature an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The teaser comes ahead of the vehicle's debut on June 30 and supports earlier statements from the company regarding the development of an AWD variant for the Sierra.

AWD System Likely on Higher Variants

The latest teaser suggests that the Sierra EV could use a dual-motor setup with one motor on each axle, enabling AWD functionality. A similar configuration is currently available on the Harrier EV. The AWD system is expected to be offered with higher variants of the Sierra EV.

Tata Sierra EV: Battery and Platform Details

The Sierra EV is expected to be based on Tata Motors' acti.ev+ architecture. It may share the 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options available in the Harrier EV. The AWD configuration could be limited to versions equipped with the larger 75kWh battery pack.

As the Sierra EV is expected to be slightly smaller than the Harrier EV, it could deliver a different driving range using the same battery options.

Tata Sierra EV: Exterior Design

The teaser also shows alloy wheels that appear similar to those seen on the Sierra ICE version. The SUV is expected to retain its upright design, along with connected LED lighting elements at the front and rear.

Other design elements are likely to include thick B-pillars and a blacked-out rear glass section inspired by the original Sierra. Unlike the internal combustion engine (ICE) model, the EV version is expected to feature a closed-off front grille.

Tata Sierra EV: Interior and Features

The cabin layout is expected to be similar to the Sierra ICE version. Higher variants may get a three-screen setup consisting of a digital instrument cluster, infotainment touchscreen and passenger display. Lower variants could feature a dual-screen arrangement.

Expected features include a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered seat functions, audio system and multiple drive modes.

Tata Sierra EV: Expected Price and Rivals

The Sierra EV is expected to be positioned between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata Motors' electric vehicle lineup. Prices are expected to range between ₹18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Once launched, it is expected to compete with models such as the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Ebella.

Elctrik Speaks

The addition of an AWD setup indicates that Tata Motors is looking to expand the Sierra EV's appeal beyond standard front-wheel-drive electric SUVs. If the model shares the Harrier EV's battery and dual-motor technology, it could offer buyers an additional drivetrain option in a segment where AWD choices remain limited. More details regarding battery specifications, range figures and variant-wise features are expected to be revealed at the vehicle's debut on June 30.
