Tata Motors has announced that deliveries of the Sierra SUV in India have crossed the 10,000-unit mark. The company said the model recorded around 70,000 bookings on the first day after bookings opened. Deliveries for the SUV began on January 15, 2026.
The Sierra nameplate returned to the market with a new-generation model positioned in the compact SUV category. Deliveries have been taking place across major metropolitan areas as well as Tier-II cities, contributing to the cumulative delivery figure.
Tata Sierra: Engine Options
The Sierra is offered with three engine options. These include a naturally aspirated petrol engine, a turbocharged petrol engine and a turbocharged diesel engine. All three engines have a displacement of 1.5 litres.
With multiple powertrain options, the company aims to offer buyers different choices within the segment.
Tata Sierra: Design and Interior Features
In terms of design the Sierra includes elements that reference the earlier Sierra model, such as the rear-side glass design. The SUV also features LED lighting elements and an updated front design. On the inside, the SUV gets a dual digital display layout, connected car features, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and a panoramic sunroof in certain variants.
Segment Competition
The Sierra enters a competitive SUV segment in the Indian market. Key models in this category include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The segment continues to see strong demand as manufacturers expand their SUV portfolios in the country.
