Tata Passenger Electric Mobility has updated the Punch EV with a facelift that brings design revisions, feature additions and mechanical upgrades. While the overall form and positioning of the electric SUV remain the same, the new version differs from the pre-facelift (old) model in several areas. Here is a detailed look at what has changed and what continues unchanged.
Tata Punch EV Facelift vs Old Model: Exterior
The facelifted Punch EV maintains the same overall silhouette and body structure as the old model. However, the front and rear sections receive noticeable updates.
At the front, the connected LED light bar seen on the earlier version has been removed. In its place, the facelift features LED DRLs positioned towards the edges.
The front bumper has been redesigned with a larger air dam and a textured silver faux skid plate, replacing the earlier black strip element.
From the side, there are no design alterations. The facelift retains the blacked-out ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, roof rails, thick body cladding and 16-inch alloy wheels with the same design. The ‘Tata.ev’ badge on the lower front doors also continues unchanged.
At the rear, the facelift introduces connected LED tail lamps, aligning it visually with the ICE-powered Punch. The rear bumper has also been revised. Additionally, the updated model gets new colour options.
Tata Punch EV Facelift vs Old Model: Interior
Inside the cabin, the layout remains largely the same as the old model. The dashboard design, centre console layout and seating configuration are unchanged.
The facelift continues with the 10.25-inch free-standing infotainment system and a dual-tone interior theme. However, the colour combination has been updated from black-and-white to a grey-and-white scheme.
The two-spoke illuminated steering wheel is retained. Rear seat space remains identical to the earlier version, though the leatherette upholstery now features refreshed colour shades. New toggle-style switches for the power windows have also been introduced.
Tata Punch EV Facelift vs Old Model: Features and Safety
The facelift carries forward most features from the old model while adding a few new elements.
New additions include over-the-air (OTA) updates, voice commands supporting six languages, smartwatch connectivity, a high-beam alert feature and a blind-spot monitor.
Features retained from the pre-facelift version include a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, cruise control, paddle shifters, connected car technology and a sunroof.
Safety equipment remains unchanged. The facelift continues with six airbags as standard, electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold assist and hill descent control.
Tata Punch EV Facelift vs Old Model: Powertrain
The key update in the facelift is the introduction of larger battery packs. The earlier 25 kWh and 35 kWh units have been replaced with 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery options.
Facelift - 30 kWh
The 30 kWh variant delivers a claimed MIDC (Part 1 + 2) range of 365–375 km. It produces 88 PS and 154 Nm of torque. The 0–100 kmph acceleration time stands at 13.5 seconds.
Facelift - 40 kWh
The 40 kWh version offers a claimed MIDC range of 468 km. It produces 129 PS and 154 Nm of torque, with a 0–100 kmph acceleration time of 9 seconds.
Old Model - 25 kWh
