Tata Motors and Green Drive Mobility have expanded their ongoing collaboration to increase the use of electric cargo vehicles in logistics operations across India. The partnership covers vehicle deployment across first-mile, mid-mile, and last-mile delivery segments.

Fleet Expansion Plans

Green Drive Mobility currently operates a fleet of over 250 four-wheeler electric cargo vehicles used in first-mile and mid-mile logistics. The company plans to scale this number to around 1,000 electric cargo vehicles by 2028. The expansion will depend on demand, customer requirements, and vehicle availability.

Recent Additions to Fleet

The company recently added a new batch of Tata Ace EV vehicles to support operations in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. These vehicles are being used for logistics services for a multinational furnishings company.

Multi-Segment Operations

Green Drive Mobility operates electric vehicles across multiple categories, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, electric cabs, and buses. These vehicles serve sectors such as FMCG, FMCD, e-commerce, catering, dairy, courier, and bakery.

EV-as-a-Service Model

The company provides services under an Electric Vehicle-as-a-Service (EVaaS) model. This includes fleet deployment, operations, charging infrastructure, and related support services for enterprise customers.

Electrik Speaks

The continued deployment of electric cargo vehicles in logistics indicates a gradual shift by fleet operators and manufacturers towards electrification in commercial transport. Scaling such partnerships may depend on factors such as infrastructure readiness, cost considerations, and demand from enterprise clients.
