Tata Aeris To Replace Tata Tigor With Updated Design And Features
Tata Motors is expected to replace the Tigor with the Aeris, bringing changes to the sedan’s design, features and equipment while retaining its existing petrol and CNG powertrain options.

Tata Motors is expected to replace the Tigor with a new sub-4-metre sedan called the Tata Aeris. The model is expected to take over from the Tigor, which has been on sale in India since 2017.
The upcoming sedan has appeared in patent drawings, giving an indication of the changes planned for the exterior. According to reports citing industry sources, the Aeris name will be used for the updated model as part of Tata Motors’ changes to its passenger vehicle lineup. The 2026 Tata Aeris is expected to continue competing with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura.

Tata Aeris Design
The patent drawings indicate that the Aeris will retain the Tigor’s overall proportions and notchback-style roofline, while receiving changes to the front and rear sections.
At the front, the sedan is expected to get a revised bumper, a slimmer grille and redesigned headlamps with LED lighting. The lower section of the bumper is also expected to feature changes to the air intake and fog lamp housing.
The side profile is expected to remain largely similar to the Tigor. New alloy wheel designs are likely to be offered. At the rear, the Aeris is expected to feature connected LED tail lamps, a redesigned tailgate and a new bumper with vertically positioned reflectors.
Tata Aeris Expected Features
The cabin is also expected to receive updates. The list could include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control and automatic climate control. Other expected features include a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, keyless entry and push-button start/stop.
In terms of safety, the Aeris is expected to get six airbags as standard. Other possible equipment includes electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera and hill-hold assist.
Tata Aeris Expected Powertrain
The Tata Aeris is expected to use the same basic powertrain options as the Tigor. This could include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, along with a factory-fitted CNG option. Transmission choices are expected to include a manual gearbox and an AMT. Tata Motors could also introduce an electric version of the sedan at a later stage. If launched, it is expected to be called the Aeris.ev.
Tata Aeris Expected Launch And Price
The Tata Aeris is expected to be launched in India soon. Its expected price could fall in the Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh range, ex-showroom.
The sedan will continue to operate in the sub-4-metre segment and is expected to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura.
