The SBA-20 was introduced at prices ranging from Rs 1,869 to Rs 2,459, depending on the variant. It is available in multiple sizes and finishes. Steelbird distributes its helmets through dealer partnerships and retail outlets across metropolitan cities, smaller towns and other markets in India.

Two-Wheeler Helmet Market

The sales milestone comes amid continued demand for helmets in India's two-wheeler market. With motorcycles and scooters serving as a major mode of daily transportation, helmet manufacturers operate across different price segments, with safety certification, comfort and design forming part of their product offerings.

Rajeev Kapur, Managing Director, Steelbird Hi-Tech India Limited, said, “The SBA-20 crossing the 10 lakh sales milestone is an important achievement for us and a reflection of the trust consumers continue to place in Steelbird. Our endeavour has always been to develop helmets that bring together safety, comfort, design and accessibility. The SBA-20 reflects this approach by offering riders a practical and stylish product for their everyday journeys. This milestone encourages us to continue innovating, strengthening our product portfolio and contributing to a stronger culture of helmet use and road safety in India.”

Elctrik Speaks

Crossing 10 lakh units in sales within two years of its launch indicates demand for the SBA-20 in its price segment. However, helmet purchases should primarily be guided by safety certification, correct sizing and fit rather than styling or additional features. For manufacturers, the challenge remains to make certified helmets accessible across different consumer segments while maintaining safety standards.
