JSW MG Motor India has reported that nearly 70 per cent of its Windsor electric vehicle sales are from non-metro cities, while metro markets such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai account for the remaining 30 per cent, according to PTI.

Sales Performance of MG Windsor

The MG Windsor has recorded cumulative sales of around 65,000 units since its launch in October 2024. The data reflects increasing demand from smaller cities and towns.

Shift in EV Buying Trends

According to the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Vinay Raina, electric vehicle adoption in India was initially concentrated in metro cities due to limited awareness and fewer options in the mass segment. He stated that the introduction of the Windsor model contributed to wider adoption in non-metro areas.

Network Presence Across India

The company has 541 sales and service outlets across India. Out of these, 51 are in metro cities, while most are located in smaller towns and cities.

Overall EV Sales and Growth

From October 2024 to February 2026, JSW MG Motor India sold nearly 1 lakh electric vehicles in the country, including models like the Comet and ZS EV.

Total Sales Performance

In 2025, the company sold 70,554 vehicles in total, including both electric and petrol or diesel models. This was a 19 per cent increase compared to the previous year.

Future Product Plans

The company plans to launch four new models in 2026, including a plug-in hybrid SUV.
