MG Motor India has added the Cyberster and M9 to its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme. Under the scheme, buyers pay a lower upfront price for the vehicle and a separate battery rental based on the distance travelled.

As of September 21, 2026, the MG Cyberster is available under the BaaS programme at Rs 72.49 lakh (ex-showroom), with a battery rental of Rs 8 per kilometre. The price is Rs 10 lakh lower than the version with the battery included.

The MG M9 is available with the same battery rental rate of Rs 8 per kilometre. Its BaaS price starts at Rs 69.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 5 lakh lower than its standard purchase price.

MG Cyberster Battery Rental And Specifications

The MG Cyberster is an electric two-seater roadster powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The setup produces 503 bhp and 725 Nm of torque.

MG claims a range of up to 580 km on a single charge. The model also gets electric scissor doors and a two-seat cabin.

Under the BaaS arrangement, customers pay the vehicle's upfront price separately from the battery rental. The rental is calculated according to the kilometres driven.

MG M9 BaaS Price And Features

The MG M9 is an electric MPV with a focus on rear-seat features. Its second-row seats get 16-way adjustment, heating, ventilation and eight massage modes. Other equipment includes a dual-pane sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting and a 13-speaker audio system. Safety features include Level 2 ADAS and seven airbags. The M9 has received five-star ratings in Euro NCAP and ANCAP safety tests.

MG BaaS Availability In India

The Cyberster and M9 are sold through MG Select outlets. MG currently has 15 MG Select centres across 14 cities in India. The BaaS programme separates the cost of the vehicle from the battery. This reduces the initial purchase price, while the customer pays the battery rental based on usage.
