Mercedes-Benz India has unveiled the CLA Electric in India, bringing back the CLA nameplate in an electric format. Bookings for the sedan will open on March 10, 2026, while its market launch is planned for April 2026. The expected starting price is likely to be between Rs 59 lakh and Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom). The model is based on the company’s Modular Architecture (MMA) platform and will be offered in the 250+ variant. It will be positioned within the brand’s entry-level electric vehicle portfolio.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Design and Dimensions
The CLA Electric continues with a coupe-style design. It features a closed front panel with illuminated three-pointed star elements, LED headlamps and a connected LED light strip at the rear. Other exterior elements include flush door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels.
In terms of size, the sedan measures 4,723mm in length, 1,855mm in width and 1,468mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,790mm. It offers 405 litres of boot space along with a 101-litre front trunk. A fixed panoramic glass roof with heat-protection coating is included as standard.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Interior and Features
The CLA Electric introduces the new MB.OS system. The India-spec model is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch central touchscreen running the latest MBUX interface. The system supports voice commands with AI-based functions and over-the-air software updates.
Additional features include wireless smartphone charging, six USB Type-C ports, 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats and ambient lighting integrated into the dashboard.
Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric: Battery, Performance and Charging
The CLA 250+ variant is powered by an 85.5kWh battery pack paired with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 268.20bhp. The company claims a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration time of 6.7 seconds. The certified WLTP range stands at 792km.
The vehicle uses an 800V electrical architecture and supports DC fast charging up to 240kW. Under standard test conditions, it can add up to 400km of range in around 20 minutes. The model is also equipped with a two-speed transmission.
