Collaboration With IIT Roorkee
The company is also working with Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee on AI-based algorithms designed to estimate State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH) in lithium batteries.
According to the company, these algorithms are intended to support predictive diagnostics and help identify potential battery-related issues before system failure. The feature may also help fleet operators monitor battery usage and maintenance requirements more efficiently.
Focus on Battery Safety Standards
MaxVolt stated that the Smart BMS includes protection systems against overcharging, overheating and short circuits. The battery packs are designed in line with AIS-156 safety standards applicable to electric vehicle batteries in India.
The company said the system has been developed to maintain battery performance under varying operating and temperature conditions.
Applications Across EV and Energy Storage Segments
The lithium battery packs are designed for use in electric two-wheelers, cargo vehicles and solar street lighting systems. MaxVolt added that the batteries support fast charging and are intended for operation in different weather conditions across India.
Vishal Gupta, Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of MaxVolt Energy Industries Ltd, stated, “Our IoT-enabled Smart BMS marks a significant step forward in delivering intelligent and efficient energy solutions. We are giving users more control, safety, and reliability in their EV experience through real-time monitoring and AI-driven insights. MaxVolt is driven by the need to solve real-world problems, and our Smart BMS technology is designed to improve battery performance and build user confidence through transparency and safety. This is an important step toward making India's electric mobility ecosystem smarter and more sustainable. This launch will only strengthen MaxVolt Energy’s commitment towards innovation. It helps the brand in contributing to the growth and reliability of India’s clean energy and electric mobility landscape.”
