Maruti Suzuki India has introduced the e Vitara in the domestic market and shared its detailed pricing. Under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the introductory price starts at Rs 10.99 lakh. Customers opting for this plan will pay a battery usage charge of Rs 3.99 per kilometre for the 49 kWh version.

For buyers choosing the standard purchase option without BaaS, the introductory ex-showroom (Delhi) prices are:


  1. Delta 49 kWh – Rs 15.99 lakh
  2. Zeta 61 kWh – Rs 17.49 lakh
  3. Alpha 61 kWh – Rs 19.79 lakh
  4. Alpha 61 kWh (Dual Tone) – Rs 20.01 lakh


The company has stated that these introductory prices include the home charger, installation and survey charges. Bookings are open across all variants through NEXA dealerships and the official website. The booking amount has been fixed at Rs 21,000.


Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Variants and Battery Options

The e Vitara is offered in three variants: Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Delta variant is available with a 49 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The Zeta and Alpha variants come with a 61 kWh LFP battery pack. The 49 kWh version produces 141.8 bhp and 193 Nm of torque. The 61 kWh versions produce 171.6 bhp and 193 Nm of torque. All variants use a single-speed transmission and feature a front-wheel-drive layout. The SUV is equipped with a 3-phase AC permanent magnet synchronous motor. The claimed driving range stands at 440 km for the 49 kWh battery and 543 km for the 61 kWh battery.


Charging Time

Using a 7.4 kW AC charger (single phase), the 49 kWh battery can be charged in around 6.5 hours. The 61 kWh battery takes approximately 9 hours under the same conditions. With DC fast charging, both battery packs can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 45 minutes.

The e Vitara measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,700 mm. The SUV has a seating capacity of five. Kerb weight ranges from 1,725 kg in the Delta variant to 1,815 kg in the Alpha variant. The battery pack is covered by an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty.

The e Vitara features LED daytime running lights integrated with the headlamp unit and LED tail lamps at the rear. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. The overall design remains similar to the internal combustion engine version, with changes related to the electric platform.

Inside the cabin, the e Vitara includes ventilated front seats and a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The rear seats offer flexible configurations. Safety equipment includes seven airbags and a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Other features include a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, keyless entry and ride-by-wire technology. Ambient lighting is also included.
