Kinetic Engineering has announced an additional investment of approximately Rs 57 crore to fund manufacturing operations and expand its electric vehicle business. The investment will be divided between its manufacturing facility and electric mobility subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts. The company said the investment follows an increase in total promoter shareholding from 50% to 69.27% over four years.

Rs 17 Crore for Manufacturing and Export Orders

Of the total investment, approximately Rs 17 crore will be used for capital expenditure at Kinetic Engineering's manufacturing facility. The funding will support production linked to driveline export contracts secured by the company.

The export orders, covering markets in Europe and Mexico, have a combined value of approximately Rs 500 crore and are scheduled for delivery over seven years.

Rs 40 Crore for Electric Two-Wheeler Business

The remaining Rs 40 crore will be invested in Kinetic Watts and Volts, the company's electric mobility subsidiary. The funds will be used for product development, supply chain expansion and the rollout of its retail network. The subsidiary's electric two-wheeler portfolio includes the electric versions of the Kinetic DX and DX+ scooters.

Kinetic Expands Electric Scooter Retail Network

Kinetic Watts and Volts has signed letters of intent with more than 150 dealers across India, according to the company. More than 60 retail touchpoints are currently operational, offering sales, service and spare parts facilities. The investment is expected to support the company's manufacturing requirements for export orders and the expansion of its electric two-wheeler business.
