Hyundai Motor has unveiled the IONIQ 3, a compact electric hatchback aimed at the European market. The model expands the IONIQ lineup and is positioned as an everyday-use EV with a focus on practicality, efficiency, and connected technology.
Hyundai IONIQ 3: Design and Platform
The IONIQ 3 introduces what Hyundai calls an “Aero Hatch” body style. The design combines a low front profile with a sloping roofline that extends toward the rear, aimed at improving airflow and cabin space. The vehicle is based on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with a 400-volt architecture. It has a reported drag coefficient of 0.263.

The IONIQ 3 is offered with two battery configurations:
- 42.2 kWh (Standard Range)
- 61 kWh (Long Range)

Charging capabilities include:
- DC fast charging (10–80%) in about 29–30 minutes
- AC charging up to 11 kW (standard) and 22 kW (optional)
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) support

The IONIQ 3 has been developed for Europe and will be produced at Hyundai’s facility in İzmit, Türkiye. The model is targeted at urban users, small families, and buyers looking for a compact electric vehicle with mid-range capability.
