Honda has patented the design of its WN7 electric motorcycle in India. The patent filing has led to discussions around a possible future launch, although there is no official confirmation from the company regarding its India plans. The WN7 is based on the Honda EV Fun concept that was first showcased in November 2024. The motorcycle is already on sale in select international markets.
Honda WN7: Design And Features
The Honda WN7 follows a naked street motorcycle design. Patent images show a front section with vertically positioned LED headlamps and a wide LED daytime running light. The motorcycle also gets a sculpted central body panel covering the battery area.

Other visible elements include a wide handlebar, bar-end mirrors, a single-piece seat, and a compact rear section. The motorcycle uses a single-sided swingarm and a mid-mounted electric motor setup. A rear disc brake and monocoque-style subframe are also part of the design. The WN7 comes equipped with a 5-inch TFT instrument display with Honda RoadSync connectivity support.
Honda WN7: Battery, Range And Charging
The Honda WN7 uses a 9.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a single electric motor. The motor produces 50.4 kW of peak power and 100 Nm of torque. Honda states that the motorcycle delivers performance comparable to 600 cc petrol-powered motorcycles.
The company claims a riding range of 130 km on a single charge, depending on riding conditions and riding style. The motorcycle supports CCS2 fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in under 30 minutes. AC home charging support is also available, with a full charge taking under three hours. The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 217 kg.
Name Explanation
According to Honda, the “W” in WN7 comes from the development concept “Be the Wind,” while “N” refers to the naked motorcycle body style. The number “7” represents the motorcycle’s output class.
India Launch Possibility
In the UK market, the Honda WN7 is priced at GBP 12,999, which converts to around Rs 16.74 lakh. While the motorcycle has now been patented in India, its launch in the country currently appears uncertain.
Elctrik Speaks
The patent filing indicates Honda’s interest in protecting the WN7 design in India, but it does not confirm a market launch. With premium electric motorcycles still forming a small segment in India, Honda may continue evaluating demand and infrastructure readiness before making a decision on local introduction.
