Reveal Details

Honda ADV160 was showcased in India on July 24, 2026, during Honda's product reveal where several scooters and other two-wheelers were launched. Honda hasn't announced any details about the launch or pricing of the ADV160 scooter. But the reveal itself states that the scooter would soon be available in the Indian market.

It is believed that Honda will be selling the ADV160 through their outlets called RedWing and BigWing. The scooter would be made in India and would also be exported from the country. Thus, the importance of the scooter increases in this regard as well.

Mr. Mutsuo Usui, Director - Sales & Marketing, said "Indian customers today are looking for products that complement their lifestyles as much as their mobility needs. Through this expanded portfolio, we are bringing a broader range of Honda’s globally acclaimed models to India and offering customers greater choice across multiple riding categories. Whether for daily commuting, weekend exploration, adventure touring, or leisure riding, this product range enables customers to choose a Honda that best matches their aspirations.”

Design and Positioning

Honda ADV160 draws inspiration in its design from larger adventure scooters. Featuring a tall profile, high windshield, dual LED headlamps, and block-pattern tires. ADV160 seems like a smaller, urbanized version of Honda’s concept of adventure scooter that would attract riders who care about styling as much as about functionality.

  • Premium look adventure style body work.
  • High adjustable windshield to provide better wind resistance.
  • Dual LED headlight.
  • Block-pattern tires.

The Honda ADV160 seems to be designed specifically for people who may be interested in purchasing Hero Xoom 160 or Yamaha Aerox 155. Hence, it is an essential offering for the premium scooter market.

Engine and Performance

This power comes courtesy of a 157cc single-cylinder engine that pumps out 16.3hp and 14.9Nm. Coupled with CVT automatic transmission. This engine is E85 compatible, meaning that it has the capability to use up to 85 percent ethanol blends. This is an uncommon feature for a bike in this category and a significant selling point for Honda.

Honda hasn’t revealed the price for the ADV160 in India yet. From the engine specifications, one would assume that this scooter is targeted at offering a practical yet premium experience. The ability to utilize different fuel types and the adventure look might just be the actual selling point.

Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said "India remains one of Honda's most strategic global markets. This 10-product portfolio offers a wide range of mobility solutions. It reinforces Honda's multi-pathway approach, with advanced ICE vehicles, electric mobility solutions, and flex-fuel technologies designed to address diverse customer needs and varying infrastructure readiness. At the same time, we are accelerating our Make-in-India for the World commitment by strengthening local engineering and manufacturing capabilities. This not only allows us to bring Honda's global technologies closer to Indian customers, but also reinforces India's role as an important manufacturing and export hub within Honda's global operations, while maintaining the quality, reliability, and safety that define Honda.”

Features List

Honda has equipped the ADV160 with an impressive range of features that reflect the high-end positioning of this motorcycle.

  • TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity.
  • USB charging port.
  • Traction control.
  • Single-channel ABS.
  • 27-litre underseat storage.

The scooter is equipped with telescopic front forks and double shock absorbers at the back. There is also a 14-inch front wheel and 13-inch rear wheels. This hardware configuration will certainly improve the stability of the scooter.

ELCTRIK Speaks

It’s worth noting that the premium scooter market is beginning to expand. People seem to be getting used to buying something which makes a better impression on roads and has more accessories. This is where the Honda ADV160 perfectly suits this trend with its adventure design and flex-fuel engine. Right now, this reveal is only the first part of the deal as the main plot will come at the release date and pricing.
