Green Drive Mobility announced a collaboration with South Central Railway to pilot the Rail Parcel App at Rail Nilayam in Hyderabad. The initiative is intended to support the digital booking and management of parcel services within the Indian Railways network.


The app has been introduced as a digital platform for parcel bookings, tracking, and delivery coordination. It is designed to enable individuals, small businesses, and companies to book parcel shipments online and track their movement through the railway system.


Digital Platform for Parcel Booking and Tracking

The Rail Parcel App enables users to book parcel services through an online interface and monitor shipment status in real time. The system also supports door-to-door delivery through integrated logistics services.


The platform is part of efforts to introduce digital tools into railway freight and parcel operations. It aims to reduce dependence on manual booking processes and improve visibility in parcel movement.


Pilot Rollout Across Multiple Cities

The pilot programme has been introduced in several cities including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The selected locations are part of the South Central Railway network and surrounding regions.


The pilot phase will be used to test operational workflows, digital booking processes, and logistics coordination before potential expansion to other parts of the railway network.


Integration of Rail Infrastructure and EV Logistics

The initiative combines railway parcel services with last-mile delivery supported by Green Drive Mobility’s electric vehicle fleet. The integration is intended to support end-to-end parcel movement from booking to delivery.


By connecting rail freight infrastructure with digital logistics systems and electric mobility solutions, the project introduces a technology-based approach to parcel transport within the railway ecosystem.


Shift Toward Digitized Freight Services

Indian Railways has been gradually introducing digital tools in freight and parcel management. The Rail Parcel App is part of these efforts to modernize service access and logistics coordination.


The collaboration between Green Drive Mobility and South Central Railway will assess how digital platforms can support parcel bookings, shipment tracking, and delivery services within the existing railway freight network.
