FlixBus and Green Drive Mobility have announced a partnership to launch electric intercity bus services between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam (Vizag). The companies will begin operations with four electric buses on the route as part of the first phase of deployment.

The Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam corridor is one of the high-traffic intercity travel routes in Andhra Pradesh, connecting two major commercial and urban centres in the state.

Partnership Focuses on Electric Intercity Mobility

Under the partnership, FlixBus will provide its digital ticketing platform and intercity travel network, while Green Drive Mobility will manage electric fleet operations and related mobility infrastructure. The companies said the initiative is aimed at supporting the adoption of electric mobility in long-distance public transport operations in India.

Passenger Services and Route Connectivity

Passengers travelling on the route will have access to app-based ticket booking through the FlixBus platform along with electric coach services operating between the two cities.

The deployment is also expected to contribute to lower operational emissions compared to conventional diesel-powered buses in intercity transport.

Expansion Plans for South India

Green Drive Mobility said it plans to expand electric intercity bus operations to additional routes across South India in the future as part of its broader electric mobility plans.
