Focus on Market Expansion and New Segments
According to the company, the appointment is aimed at strengthening leadership as EMotorad expands into global markets and explores new mobility categories.

Funding and Business Presence
EMotorad has raised around $25 million in cumulative funding since its inception. The company’s portfolio includes electric cycles designed for urban mobility, fitness, and recreational use.
Himanshu Ratnoo, Co-Founder, EMotorad, said, “What EMotorad has built is genuinely exciting. Europe has already scaled 5X in matter of months. The export pipeline is already attracting large strategic partners. Mass mobility is a global shift, not limited to India as market. Every major city in the world is rethinking how people move and electric cycles are right at the centre of that conversation. We have a brand with real momentum, real distribution, and a product that works across markets. My job is to make sure we show up at the scale this opportunity deserves."
Rajib Gangopadhyay, Founder, EMotorad, said, "Building EMotorad from zero has been incredibly rewarding. We started with a dream and a garage, and now we are shipping cycles to 18 countries. Himanshu brings a rare combination of scale and deep consumer instinct that this phase demands. Having him in the founding team is a big deal for us."
Kunal Gupta, Co-Founder & CEO, EMotorad, said, ”When Rajib and I started EMotorad, we were two guys with big bet and a lot of conviction. Six years later, that bet is paying off. We continue to dominate India market and see immense potential oversees. What comes next is the part that gets me excited. Himanshu and I are going to build something that India has not seen in this space before. A truly global electric mobility brand, built here, loved everywhere.”
Electrik Speaks
The appointment reflects continued movement of senior executives from automotive and mobility platforms into the electric mobility sector. Industry participants are increasingly focusing on leadership with operational and scale-building experience as competition grows across EV and micromobility categories.
