A design patent has been filed by Ducati in India for the 2026 Monster bike. It is a clear indication that this naked bike is on its way to India in the near future. The bike was launched around the world in October 2025. This latest application is proof of Ducati gearing up for the launch of the bike in India.

Updated Monster Edges Close to India Launch

The Monster has always been the best-known bike of Ducati, and the 2026 Monster keeps up with this tradition with its sleeker and more advanced design. However, at the same time, Ducati has managed to retain the classic element that made this bike so popular from the very beginning. According to Ducati, the 2026 Monster is in line with their "everything you need, nothing more" philosophy.

Redesigns and styling upgrades

The 2026 Monster gets a complete redesign, appearing smaller in size compared to the previous generations. Ducati has revived the muscular tank look that was a signature for the bike for so many years, and at the same time made the motorcycle slimmer.

Visual updates include:

  • The redesigned fuel tank with bolder proportions.
  • An updated full-LED headlamp.
  • The slimmer tail end.
  • More compact, athletic-looking body. Inspired by the first-gen (1992) Monster.

The new generation of the Monster is aimed at offering a familiar look to die-hard Monster fans. But at the same time having something new and fresh to make it competitive in the premium segment of naked bikes.

Engine and performance

The latest development on the Monster is the adoption of Ducati's latest 890cc V2 engine. This engine replaces the earlier Testastretta engine. It also powers other Ducati motorcycles including Panigale V2, Streetfighter V2, and Multistrada V2.

As per Ducati, the engine offers an output of 110.7 hp at 9,000 rpm and 67 lb-ft of torque at 7,250 rpm in global specifications.

Other features of note from Ducati include:

  • IVT variable valve timing.
  • Increased valve clearance check interval of 28,000 miles.
  • Better mid-range performance for street riding.

Chassis and Electronics

The 2026 Monster makes use of a monocoque frame and employs a Showa 43 mm inverted fork at the front. On the other hand, the back has a preload adjustable monoshock, while braking systems come courtesy of Brembo, which make use of two 320 mm front disc brakes.

In addition to these features, the 2026 Monster also comes fitted with some state-of-the-art electronics:

  • Riding modes.
  • 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).
  • Cornering ABS.
  • Traction control.
  • Wheelie control.
  • Engine brake control.
  • Quickshift compatibility.

Although there has been no official announcement made by Ducati regarding its Indian launch yet. It should be noted that the current Ducati Monster has a price tag of Rs 13.84 lakh. It can serve as a guide to understand the future price position of this new model once it arrives in India.
