Citroen has teased the updated version of its eC3 electric hatchback ahead of its launch in India. The model is expected to adopt the brand's revised naming strategy and could be introduced as the Citroen eC3 X. The teaser follows similar updates recently seen on the C3 X, Aircross X and Basalt X.

The teaser image reveals several changes to the exterior design. The front bumper has been revised and now features a silver-finished lower insert. The updated model is also expected to receive LED daytime running lamps and LED fog lamps.

Other visible changes include outside rearview mirrors with integrated turn indicators and a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels. These updates are expected to bring the electric hatchback in line with the latest design changes introduced across Citroen's India portfolio.

Citroen eC3 X: Interior and Features

Inside, the eC3 X is likely to receive feature additions aimed at improving convenience and usability. Expected updates include a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and dashboard, cruise control with speed limiter, ambient lighting, fast USB Type-C charging ports, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, and automatic climate control.

The electric hatchback could also get a 360-degree camera system. Citroen is expected to retain the existing 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Citroen eC3 X: Safety Features

Safety updates are expected to include six airbags as standard. Other likely features include electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), speed-sensitive door locks, and an engine immobiliser.

Citroen eC3 X: Battery and Performance

The eC3 X is expected to continue with the existing 29.2 kWh battery pack. The electric motor develops 57 PS and 143 Nm of torque. Citroen claims a driving range of around 320 km on a single charge, while the top speed is rated at 107 km/h.

Citroen eC3 X: Expected Pricing and Rivals

The current eC3 is priced between Rs 12.9 lakh and Rs 13.26 lakh (ex-showroom). Pricing for the updated version is expected to be announced closer to launch. The electric hatchback competes in a segment that includes models such as the Tata Punch EV.

Elctrik Speaks

The teaser suggests that Citroen is preparing a feature and safety update for its entry-level electric hatchback rather than a major mechanical overhaul. Retaining the existing battery and motor setup indicates the focus could be on improving equipment levels and bringing the eC3 X in line with the brand's newer products. Pricing will remain an important factor in determining its position within the growing electric passenger vehicle segment.
