Citroen India has released a teaser image of the upcoming e-C3X electric vehicle, indicating that the model is nearing its launch in the Indian market. The teaser highlights the rear section of the vehicle and confirms the addition of a rear wiper, a feature not offered on the current e-C3.

The electric hatchback is also expected to adopt the e-C3X nameplate, aligning it with Citroen's revised naming strategy already seen on the ICE-powered C3X.

Citroen e-C3X: Exterior Changes Expected

While the overall design is expected to remain largely unchanged, the updated e-C3X could receive a revised front bumper with a silver skid-plate-style element. Other expected updates include LED daytime running lamps, LED fog lamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, and outside rear-view mirrors with integrated turn indicators.

Citroen may also introduce new exterior colour options as part of the update.

Citroen e-C3X: Expected Interior Changes

The cabin is expected to receive several feature additions. These may include leatherette seat upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, Type-C charging ports, auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror, ambient lighting, and a digital instrument cluster.

The infotainment system is likely to continue with a 10.2-inch touchscreen unit supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 360-degree camera could also be introduced.

Citroen e-C3X: Safety Features

Safety upgrades are expected to include six airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Additional safety features could be announced closer to the vehicle's launch.

Powertrain Expected to Remain Unchanged

Mechanically, the e-C3X is expected to retain the existing 29.2 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing 56 bhp and 143 Nm of torque.

The current e-C3 offers a claimed driving range of up to 246 km on a single charge. While no powertrain changes have been confirmed, Citroen could introduce software-level optimisations to improve efficiency.

The e-C3X update appears to focus on addressing feature gaps in the existing model rather than introducing major mechanical changes. The addition of features such as a rear wiper, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera could help improve its competitiveness in India's entry-level electric car segment, where buyers are increasingly prioritising safety and convenience features alongside driving range.
