Electric motorcycle manufacturer Ultraviolette has introduced a new programme called 'Kill the Petrol Bill' aimed at customers transitioning from petrol-powered two-wheelers to electric motorcycles. Announced in June 2026, the initiative provides cashback benefits based on the usage of a customer's existing petrol bike or scooter.

Under the programme, customers can receive cashback corresponding to the distance covered on their petrol-powered two-wheeler during the last two years, subject to a maximum benefit of Rs 30,000.

The cashback amount is calculated based on the recorded kilometres travelled by the customer's current petrol vehicle.

Elctrik Speaks

The introduction of usage-based cashback programmes reflects how electric two-wheeler manufacturers are increasingly focusing on lowering the upfront ownership cost for customers considering a shift from petrol-powered vehicles. Such initiatives could play a role in improving EV adoption, particularly among high-mileage riders who stand to benefit from lower operating costs over time.
