According to the Vahan portal registration data for February 2026, India’s electric two-wheeler segment recorded a month-on-month decline compared to January 2026. The shorter 28-day month also impacted overall volumes. However, the key development was the change in brand rankings.
Below is the brand-wise sales comparison for February 2026 versus January 2026:
TVS Motor Company Retains Lead
TVS Motor Company retained the top position in February 2026 with 31,601 units registered, compared to 34,741 units in January. Despite a month-on-month decline, the company remained the highest-selling electric two-wheeler manufacturer based on Vahan registrations.
Bajaj Auto Holds Second Spot
Bajaj Auto recorded 25,323 units in February, down from 25,717 units in January. The decline was limited compared to several other brands. The Chetak range continues to contribute to the company’s electric two-wheeler volumes.
Ather Energy and Hero MotoCorp in Mid-Table
Ather Energy reported 20,582 units in February, compared to 22,130 units in January.
Hero MotoCorp, through its Vida electric range, registered 12,514 units in February, down from 13,349 units in the previous month. Both brands maintained their third and fourth positions respectively.
Ampere Enters Top Five
