The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has announced a partnership with Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (Motherson) for the development of an automotive manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi. The announcement was made in May 2026 as part of Abu Dhabi’s ongoing efforts to expand industrial manufacturing and automotive supply chain operations in the region.
Facility to Be Developed in KEZAD
The manufacturing facility will be located in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). According to the companies, the project is being developed in multiple phases on an approximately 87,652 square metre land plot.

Construction activity at the site has already started. The facility is planned to manufacture multiple automotive components for Motherson’s global operations as well as third-party OEM customers.
Project Expected to Generate Employment
The project is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs across engineering, manufacturing, technical and corporate functions.
The development is also expected to support local workforce participation, along with industrial skill development and knowledge transfer within the manufacturing sector.
Focus on Export and Supply Chain Operations
Once operational, the Abu Dhabi facility will serve as a regional manufacturing and export base.
The project will utilise Abu Dhabi’s logistics and port infrastructure, including connectivity through AD Ports Group, to support access to regional and international markets.
According to ADIO, the partnership is intended to support non-oil industrial growth, strengthen local supply chains and increase manufacturing activity in Abu Dhabi.
