On January 17, 2025, Skoda Auto marked one of the crucial milestones in its electric vehicle (EV) journey. The company showed off its new Skoda Vision 7S Concept car at the much-awaited Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This exposed Skoda to the world under the banner of electrification, along with a whole new design ideology.
A Stunning New Design
The Vision 7S Concept is a strong representation of the future direction that Skoda would take. Characterised by a very rugged exterior, bold lines, and a robust stance. It has a length of 5,016 mm and a wheelbase of 3,075 mm. Not only enhancing its visual appeal but also contributing to a spacious interior designed to accommodate seven passengers comfortably. The front fascia features T-shaped headlights and a unique seven-slat bumper that makes it very dominant on the road.
Skoda Vision 7S: Interior Comfort and Technology
The Vision 7S design is to be a versatile and comfortable. It boasts a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which flows smoothly into an 8-inch digital driver’s display, offering easy access to functions. A highlight of this model is its capability for dual wireless phone charging so that passengers stay connected throughout their journeys. The interior is equipped with an innovative ‘Relax’ mode wherein the steering wheel retracts so that passengers can enjoy entertainment options while the vehicle charges. Skoda Vision 7S: Great Performance Metrics
An underpinning component of the 7S is an 89 kWh battery offering a very strong range of close to 600 km, approximately 373 miles, on a single charge. The vehicle’s engineering is for fast charging capability up to 200 kW. The positioning of the range and charging capabilities of the Vision 7S make it more practical for a family.
Skoda officials pointed out that the Vision 7S is not just a concept car but a harbinger of the electric vehicles they will be launching soon. According to a company spokesperson, “The Vision 7S embodies our vision for sustainable mobility and our ambition to lead in the electric SUV segment.” They also announced six new electric vehicles by 2026, which means Skoda is strategically shifting its focus toward electrification as consumers’ preferences change.
Future Prospects
The production version of the Skoda Vision 7S is expected to be launched in 2026, with the pricing likely to start at around £60,000 (approximately ₹65 lakh) in markets like India. This model will replace the Kodiaq SUV, in line toward electrification and sustainable mobility solutions.
