MG Windsor Crosses 15,000 Bookings on Day One
MG’s latest electric vehicle (EV), the Windsor, has set a new benchmark in India. Within just 24 hours of opening bookings, MG Windsor recorded an astounding 15,176 reservations. This marks the highest-ever bookings received in a single day by an EV in the Indian market.
Pricing and Variants of MG Windsor
The MG Windsor is priced competitively, starting at Rs 13.5 lakh for the Excite variant and going up to Rs 15.5 lakh for the Essence variant. MG also offers a unique ‘Battery as a Service’ (BaaS) option. Under this scheme, the buyer can purchase the Excite variant for Rs 9.99 lakh, excluding the battery cost, and pay Rs 3.5 per kilometer for battery usage.
MG Windsor’s Powertrain and Range
The Windsor is powered by a 38kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 331km on a single charge. The car comes with a front axle-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing 136hp and 200Nm of torque.
Loaded with Premium Features
MG Windsor offers a host of advanced features, including a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and panoramic glass roof. It also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, full-LED lighting, a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, and more. For added comfort, the car includes a 135-degree reclining rear seat, a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, and premium upholstery.

While the Windsor has no direct rivals, it competes with other similarly priced electric SUVs in the Indian market. Some of Windsor’s main competitors include the Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV, and Mahindra XUV400.
