JSW Motors-KPIT Technologies: The electric mobility industry of India got a major fillip today as JSW Motors. A unit of the industrial conglomerate JSW Group. Pune-headquartered KPIT Technologies partnered on a long-term tech collaboration. For the development and digital transformation of electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The milestone agreement is set to propel India towards software-driven, smart mobility solutions. To enhance its position in the global value chain for clean vehicles.

JSW Motors-KPIT Technologies: Project Details
The collaboration was launched on July 31, 2025. It is an integral part of JSW Motors’ bold strategy to commit $3 billion in five years to EV innovation. The crux of this vision will be a state-of-the-art 630-acre manufacturing facility. Which is currently under development in Bidkin, Maharashtra. It will act as the central hub for JSW’s new energy vehicles.
KPIT Technologies will be JSW’s sole technology partner, with a dedicated, customized Centre of Excellence to fuel collaborative R&D on:
- Software-defined vehicle (SDV) platforms
- Next-generation electric propulsion and smart battery management
- Over-the-air (OTA) software updates and connected vehicle features
- AI-based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
- End-to-end system integration and digital architectures
JSW’s first car is to arrive by the second half of FY2026. With the new software and digital backbone to establish benchmarks in terms of safety, performance, and connected services in India.

- Development teams have now started working, prioritizing quick prototyping and system integration.

- The initial partnership term spans three years. But the two companies have signaled a desire for closer cooperation as JSW’s long-term product pipeline develops.
