Highest Domestic Sales Ever Recorded by Hyundai Motor
Total sales during the year under review for 2024 reached 764,119 units, including both domestic and export. It registers a slight reduction of 0.22 percent in comparison with last year’s sales figures of 765,786 units. Still, in this decline, there are positive aspects of Hyundai’s show regarding brand existence and customer relationships. In December 2024 alone, HMIL reported total monthly sales of 55,078 units, comprising 42,208 units in domestic sales and 12,870 units in exports. While December’s figures showed a decrease of 2.4% compared to the same month in 2023, the overall yearly performance highlights a robust demand for Hyundai vehicles across various segments.
SUV Segment Dominance by Hyundai Motor
One of the notable successes for HMIL in 2024 was its outstanding performance in the SUV segment. The company achieved its highest-ever annual domestic SUV contribution at 67.6%. Hyundai CRETA was first, followed by record domestic sales of 186,919 units. The popularity of CRETA can be attributed to a perfect blend of style, performance, and technology, which is quite a favorite among the Indian population. The uptick in sales for SUVs reflects greater trends in the Indian automobile space, where consumers are driving toward more versatile and spacious vehicles.
Mr. Tarun Garg, full-time director and Chief Operating Officer of HMIL said, “Achieving the highest-ever domestic sales three years in a row reflects customers’ preference for the brand Hyundai as their trusted, smart mobility solutions provider.” He also underlined confidence that “The newly introduced CRETA Electric model would add further strength to the brand Hyundai in the SUV space, keeping up the demand which is going electric.”
ELCTRIK Speaks
Hyundai’s strategic investment in technology and infrastructure is going to further emphasize that it will be the market leader. HMIL also looks forward to expanding its electrification lineup and enhancing offerings across all segments as it continues its path of growth and contributes to the evolving automotive landscape in India. Lastly, Hyundai Motor India Limited’s growth in 2024 is impressive while also indicating resurfaced resilience.
