French racing heritage, Bugatti, the automaker
synonymous with luxury and racing excellence, has introduced its first-ever electric vehicle, the Tourbillion. Widely popular for iconic models like the Type 35 and Chiron, Bugatti initially planned to delay its EV debut by six years. However, seeing the potential to blend luxury with cutting-edge technology, Bugatti reversed its decision, leading to the creation of the Tourbillion.
Inspired by legendary Bugattis like the Veyron Super Sport and Divo, the Tourbillion continues the brand’s tradition of engineered craftsmanship and extraordinary performance. One of its standout features is the Swiss watch inspired instrument cluster, built to precise watchmaking tolerances featuring over 600 components, highlights Bugatti’s dedication to luxury materials and timeless design.
The cabin boasts zero plastic elements and the retractable yet completely touch sensitive infotainment screen is another attractions of this French beauty. A tri-zone climate control system also adds to the overall convenience of this single-seater electric legacy maker.
Underneath its sleek exterior, the Tourbillion features a state-of-the-art powertrain. It features four electric motors, one for each wheel, providing an all-wheel-drive system. These motors combine to deliver an astounding 1,500 hp and 1,800 Nm of torque, ensuring exceptional acceleration and driving dynamics.
The Tourbillion accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 420 kmph. It also offers a remarkable range of 500 km on a single charge, thanks to advanced battery technology and efficient power management.
The Tourbillion’s design draws from Bugatti’s rich heritage, incorporating elements from the W16 Mistral and the Type 57. The vehicle’s aerodynamic profile is enhanced by a wider, athletic grille and slimline LED technology, modernizing Bugatti’s distinctive ‘eight-eye’ visual identity. The taillight, inspired by the W16 Mistral, seamlessly blends style to the overall aura of the Bugatti’s new design language.
The Tourbillion is not just about speed and power, it also prioritizes lightweight engineering and performance. Advanced 3D printing technology creates light yet strong suspension parts, contributing to the vehicle’s agility and endurance. The fixed seats and adjustable pedals and steering wheel, inspired by top-tier motorsport, provide an ideal combination of comfort and high performance control.
Celebrating 115 years of heritage and 20 years of hyper sports car experience, the Tourbillion embodies Bugatti’s commitment to luxury, innovation and performance with a sustainable approach. This groundbreaking EV redefines the standard for hypercars.
The deliveries of the Tourbillion has already commenced, with Ukranian President Zelenski’s wife adding the first-ever electric Bugatti’s primary unit worth $4 million in her garage.
