French Automaker, Citroen’s journey in India so far, has not looked stable, but in overseas markets they’re on a roll. One of the international markets, where Citroen has established a dominance in the mid-range buyer’s segment is Europe. Recently, three new models of the European-spec fleet in Citroen’s lineup received a makeover, the latest one is the Compact SUV, C3 Aircross and its electric derivative “E- C3 Aircross”
The European-spec C3 Aircross, was unveiled in early months of 2024, globally and now the brand has debuted its, electric avatar. Unlike the Brazilian and Indian versions, the European-spec C3 Aircross underpins a new Smart Car Architecture, which is shared with the E-C3 Aircross as well. In this article we’ll explore on why the internet’s going gaga over the all-new E-C3 Aircross, despite its availability exclusively in European markets.
Design:
Since, the Citroen has taken covers off the European-spec E-C3 Aircross, it is the hot gossip of the global automotive industry. What netizens, can’t keep their eyes off is the way, it looks. The all-new C3 Aircross EV, is highly inspired by its European-spec Micro Cross Hatch sibling, the E-C3. Following, an-all LED tri- projector headlamps setup with a split C-shaped DRL surround, over the blacked out sleek radiator silhoutte, placed on an aerodynamically muscular bumper, the front fascia portrays a fresh and subtle styling.
The rear profile, is highly identical barring the chevron pattern on the tailgate and the skid plate, complemented by a non-connected all-LED taillights, retaining a blacked out treatment as front grille on the tail area. The car offers, multiple exterior shades including the customized dual-tones.
The SUV runs on 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The European C3 Aircross is notably longer, measuring 4.39 meters, compared to the 4.32 meters of the Common Modular Platform (CMP) underpinned counterpart.

The European-spec E-C3 Aircross, unlike the Indian version of French Compact SUV Sharing a similar dashboard layout in the cabin, as the European spec- E-C3, the E-C3 Aircross boasts a split digital cockpit, featuring a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment, supporting the wireless carplay connectivity and a fully digital instrument cluster along with a heads up display. The cabin’s beauty is amplified by a dual-tone leatherette upholstery.
Other highlights, adding value to the package includes, a rear aid parking camera and so the sensors, single zone climate control, wireless charging amongst the others. The E-C3 Aircross, carrying the 5+2 seating configuration, holds roof mounted ac vents, with integrated blower controls. For the practicality, the rear seats offer a 60-40 split compatibility.
The sunroof, ADAS, 360 degree bird view camera, ventilated seats, electronic adjustment for front seats and connected car technology are confirmed, not be on the list.
Powertrain:
The European-spec C3 Aircross EV, is equipped with a 44 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that powers an 83 kW (113 bhp) electric motor mounted on the front axle. Citroen states that the EV can travel up to 300 km on a single charge and reach a top speed of 145 km/h. The E-C3 Aircross offers two AC charging options, a 7 kW charger and an 11 kW charger. Charging the battery from 20% to 80% consumes 4 hours and 10 minutes with the 7 kW charger, while the 11 kW charger reduces this time to 2 hours and 50 minutes.
The European-spec E-C3 Aircross, is unlikely to make its way into India, however there might be an electric version of the India-spec C3-Aircross in the development. The Common Modular Platform (CMP) based E-C3 Aircross is anticipated to break covers in the coming years, although the tentative dates still revolves around suspicion, neither has anything been official yet.
