Ola Electric unveiled the Roadster series with three models: Roadster, Roadster X, and Roadster Pro at the Sankalp 2024 event on August 15, 2024. They also teased two upcoming models, Sportster and Arrowhead. The company plans to integrate its Bharat 4680 cells into its vehicles from Q1 FY26. Prices range from INR 74,999 for the Roadster X (2.5 kWh) to INR 2,49,999 for the Roadster Pro (16 kWh). Ola Electric also showcased its homegrown Bharat 4680 cell and battery pack, a new Gen-3 platform, and the MoveOS 5.
Ola Electric initiated reservations for all Roadster variants on August 15, 2024, with delivery schedules commencing in Q4 FY25 for the Roadster X and Roadster, and Q4 FY26 for the Roadster Pro. Across all its motorcycle models, Ola Electric will provide an 8-year battery warranty along with access to its charging network.

Boasting a peak motor output of 11 kW, it claims the title of the fastest electric motorcycle in its class. The bike has three battery variants: 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh. The 4.5 kWh variant can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 2.8 seconds. With a top speed of 124 kmph and a range of up to 200 km, the Roadster X offers exceptional performance. Equipped with a Combi Braking System (CBS), disc brakes, and advanced brake-by-wire technology, the motorcycle ensures reliable and precise braking. It features Sports, Normal, and Eco riding modes and a 4.3-inch LCD display powered by MoveOS 5. The bike offers an array of digital tech features, including Ola Maps Navigation, TPSM alerts, and seamless OTA updates. Additionally, it supports Digital Key Unlock and connectivity with the Ola Electric App. “Today, 2/3rd of India’s 2W market consists of motorcycles, and with Ola’s entry into this segment, EV penetration is poised to further accelerate in the Indian 2W segment. We have already been successful in accelerating the EV adoption in the scooter segment, and with our futuristic portfolio of products, we are now focused on supercharging the EV penetration through our motorcycles. The Roadster, positioned in the commuter segment, boasts to be the fastest motorcycle in this category. It is equipped with a 13 KW motor and comes in 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh, and 6 kWh battery variants. The 6 kWh variant can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 2 seconds and has a top speed of 126 kmph, offering a range of up to 248 kms. Riders can choose from Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco modes. The Roadster features a 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen and incorporates advanced functionalities like proximity unlock, cruise control. It also incorporates AI-powered features such as Krutrim Assistant and a road trip planner. The Roadster Pro has a 52 kW motor with 105 Nm torque. It can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 1.2 seconds and has a top speed of 194 kmph. It offers a range of 579 km and features a 10-inch TFT touchscreen, USD forks, two-channel switchable ABS, and four riding modes. The MoveOS 5 update adds ADAS, traction control, integrated ride modes, and other digital features. MoveOS 6 will introduce additional race-track functionalities like Race Mode and Anti-Wheely. In Q1 of fiscal year 2026, Ola Electric will begin using Bharat 4680 cells in its electric vehicles. These cells are currently undergoing trial production at the company’s Gigafactory. They offer a significant energy advantage, with 275 Wh/kg, which is five times more than the commonly used 2170 form-factor cells in automotive applications. Furthermore, they boast a wider operating temperature range, extended lifespan with over 1,000 charge cycles, and rapid charging capabilities, allowing for a 50% charge in just 13 minutes. The beta version of MoveOS 5 will be available through an over-the-air update by Diwali. The new Ola Roadster Series seems impressive, especially with the Roadster X claiming to be the fastest electric motorcycle in its class.
