Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) launched a commercial EV, Mahindra ZEO, to revolutionise urban logistics in India on October 3, 2024. Priced at ₹7.52 lakh (ex-showroom), the ZEO (Zero Emission Option) caters to growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions in rapidly growing metropolitan areas.
A Leap Towards Sustainability
ZEO is designed to target the long-standing issues that plague last-mile deliveries. This way, it not only achieves an impression of being eco-friendly but also delivers impressive performance metrics. The 21.3 kWh of liquid-cooled batteries and a 30 kW motor generates 114 Nm of torque. This configuration allows for as much as 160 km in true outdoor range, ideal for cities where short drives and frequent return trips are regular. The ZEO can recharge up to 100 km of range in just 60 minutes using DC fast charging. It will minimise lost hours for businesses and maximise operational efficiency. It comes with a warranty of 7 years or 1.5 lakhs kilometres.
Mahindra Zeo Load Capacities
ZEO’s looking onto the versatility and practicability can be expected for two quite exciting features:
- It offers a payload of 765 kg and a good cargo box space of 2,250 mm.
- Coupled with a tight turning radius of only 4.3 meters, the car makes it easier to travel about in congested city streets.
Customer-Friendly Features
There are some features in the ZEO for a better experience for the driver:
- Automatic Transmission: The EV is equipped with an automatic transmission that ensures a smooth ride at low speeds. Well required for drive scenarios in urban conditions.
- Digital Instrument Cluster: This fully digital instrument cluster shows real-time information such as battery status and vehicle performance indicators so a driver is adequately informed while moving.
- Convenience Features: A type C USB charging slot and a lockable glovebox. Which are delivered considering the needs and requirements of the modern-day driver who needs connectivity and secure storage.
Advanced Safety and Telematics of Mahindra Zeo
The design of the ZEO places a high emphasis on safety. It hence incorporates into it an AI-enabled Driver Monitoring System, ADAS (Applied Driver Assistance Systems). Which includes Lane Departure Warning and Pedestrian Collision Alerts, among others.
The ZEO also equips the latest Mahindra NEMO telematics system to manage vehicles’ real-time performance directly from fleet managers through dedicated applications. The service with this technology allows for efficient real-time trip planning, service management, and availability of public charging stations. It is invaluably essential for businesses to optimise their operations.
