Yutong IC12E: Long-Range Intercity Electric Bus Redefines Performance
Engineered for the European market, Yutong IC12E is built to satisfy the stringent requirements of frequent intercity running. Main features and test results of the current four-country test tour are:
- Maximum Range: Up to 610 km according to SORT2 condition. Facilitated by a high energy density battery (standard 399.92 kWh, optional 465.99 kWh).
- Energy Efficiency: Recorded an industry-leading 0.7 kWh/km (empty). On a 1,272 km test route in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
- Fast Charging: State of charge (SOC) recovered from 13% to 99%. In only 1 hour 40 minutes with a single gun.
- Power and Gradeability: Sustained 20% gradeability on Norway’s steepest roads. Verifying strong performance in real-world scenarios.
- Passenger Comfort & Space: Ergonomic design, silky-smooth ride, ample luggage compartment, and a five-star cockpit. With intelligent electric power steering and pneumatically adjustable steering wheel.
- Safety: Incorporates a high-strength body, closed-ring structure, and sophisticated battery safety systems. Provides safe operation of 2 million km.
The IC12E’s road test, commenced immediately after the summit on June 19. Traverse varying road types. City roads, highways, overpasses, and seashores, exhibiting not only range, but also versatility and dependability. The bus drove a 510 km route from Germany to Denmark, finishing with 31% SOC and 170 km of remaining range. A reflection of its real-world efficiency.
