Ola Electric formally launched its long-awaited electric bike, the Ola Diamondhead. On August 15, 2025, making it a milestone moment for the Indian premium electric sports bike category. Its launch coincided with Independence Day in India. Reflecting Ola’s determination to drive innovation in electric vehicles in the country.
Key Highlights and Features of Ola Diamondhead
- Design & Styling: The Diamondhead’s extreme, futuristic styling is closely based on the original concept unveiled in 2023. It has an aggressive diamond-shaped front fairing with a solid LED headlight strip along the width. Aggressive body panels, clip-on handlebars, and a low-slung tail section. The styling was likened to a two-wheeled Tesla Cybertruck.
- Innovative Steering & Suspension: Perhaps the greatest engineering innovation is the huge front swingarm. That contains a hub-center steering system in place of the traditional fork arrangement. This hub-centered system is intended to give greater stability and handling, although it’s a complicated and more expensive setup.
- Performance: Ola aims at a scorching 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in only 2 seconds. A performance equivalent to high-end supercars. The motorcycle focuses on lightness in construction employing space-grade aluminum. Carbon fiber, and magnesium to improve agility and speed.
- Battery and Powertrain: The Diamondhead will run on Ola’s local Bharat Cell 4680 battery technology. Which should provide high power output and range though formal specifications will be revealed later closer to production. The bike sports a belt drive setup and massive dual front disc brakes in keeping with its sport-oriented design.
- Smart Technologies: Active aerodynamics and adaptive ergonomics are built in. Such as shifting bars and foot pegs to dynamically enhance rider control and comfort during rides. Advanced safety features and rider assistance like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Traction control, and AI integration are also included. Complementary smart AR helmets and wearables are also being developed by Ola to build a connected riding ecosystem.
Ola Diamondhead: Market Positioning and Pricing
Ola has launched the Diamondhead as an electric sports motorcycle with premium positioning. Which is positioned to directly compete with the Ultraviolette F77 and other such competitors. Ola is targeting a competitive ex-showroom price of about Rs 5 lakh. It is ambitious considering the high-tech and performance standards that it is leaving behind.
Production and Availability
Ola intends to transfer the Diamondhead from its present prototype stage to complete production by 2027. Although the model was formally introduced in prototype mode during 2025. Deliveries are anticipated to start in anticipation of or during 2027 following extensive tests and tuning.
ELCTRIK Speaks
This launch not only energizes India’s electric vehicle space. But also marks Ola’s serious commitment towards competing in the premium e-motorcycle space. Production timelines with a 2027 target give Ola enough time to refine the prototype. Launch a revolutionary bike that truly does. Justify its grand claims.
