Odisha EV Policy: The Odisha government has declared the implementation of its new Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0. With an ambitious goal to make BEVs hold not less than 50% of all new vehicle registrations. - Increased Incentives: The new policy extends the timeline of the original Odisha EV Policy 2021. Adds increased incentives for both EV consumers. Charge Point Operators (CPOs), with the objective of driving demand. Fostering charging infrastructure development.
- Charging Infrastructure Increase: Odisha has more than 550 public charging points. Including outlets run by two-wheeler companies, oil marketing companies, and power utilities. The State Transport Authority (STA) has floated requests for proposals. To augment charging stations in strategic locations throughout the state.
- Increasing EV Adoption: The state has seen a remarkable uptick in EV registrations. From 1.16% of new vehicle registrations in 2021 to 8.71% as of June 20, 2025. This is due to sustained policy initiatives and growing consumer awareness.

- Subsidy Structure: Two-wheeler owners are currently eligible for subsidies of up to ₹20,000. Three-wheeler owners get a flat subsidy of ₹30,000. Four-wheeler buyers can benefit from subsidies of up to ₹1.5 lakh. These incentives will be further increased under Policy 2.0.
Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, also Energy Minister, highlighted the government’s dedication to a fair energy transition. He declared that all government officials driving into the state secretariat would be asked to drive electric vehicles, which represents a major policy change in an effort to encourage EV usage in government processes.
