Expected to go on sale by late September, the Windsor will be positioned above the Comet EV and bring several new features. The Windsor, sold as the Cloud EV in other markets like Indonesia, will have a new name and specific adaptations for India. Recent teasers from MG have given us a glimpse into what to expect from this upcoming EV.
MG Windsor: What the Teasers Reveal
MG has showcased the Windsor’s rear passenger compartment in its teasers. The Windsor will come with rear AC vents, a three-passenger rear seat with three-point seat belts for each passenger, and a rear center armrest. The seats feature faux leather with a large honeycomb pattern stitching. Notably, the rear seats can recline up to 135 degrees, offering added comfort. The teasers also highlight generous legroom in the rear, making it a spacious 5-seater.
Battery Options and Powertrain
MG has not disclosed the exact specifications for the Indian version of the Windsor yet. However, the international model comes with two battery options: 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh. These offer ranges of 360km and 460km, respectively. Both variants are powered by a 134hp permanent magnet synchronous motor. Interestingly, MG Motor India has confirmed that the Windsor will use locally sourced battery and powertrain components. This might result in different power outputs and ranges for the Indian model.
