Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), India’s largest car manufacturer. Starts an epoch-making expansion of its EV after-sales network. Announcing plans to set up 1,500 specialized EV-centric workshops in over 1,000 cities by 2030-31. This strategic plan is planned to happen around the highly awaited rollout of the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. The firm’s first all-electric SUV, scheduled to be launched in India by September 2025.
EV Centric Workshops: A New Era in EV Service and Customer Support
The new EV-enabled workshops will be equipped with advanced diagnostic tools. Fast-charging infrastructure, and a workforce specially trained to handle electric vehicles. The initiative is part of Maruti Suzuki’s “e For Me” strategy. Which aims to create a robust EV ecosystem by integrating service, charging, and customer education under one roof. The company is also investing in upskilling over 4,100 technicians annually. With a focus on high-voltage systems and EV safety protocols.

e-Vitara: Maruti Suzuki’s Electric Flagship
The e-Vitara, which made its debut at Auto Expo 2025. It is based on the new Heartect-E platform co-developed with Toyota. The SUV comes with two battery pack options claiming up to 500 km of range on a single charge. 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The top-of-the-line variant comes with a 174 hp motor. While the dual-motor AWD variant (e-AllGrip) produces 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Assuring both efficiency and off-road capability.

Although Maruti Suzuki has not gone on record with prices. Industry estimates put the e-Vitara in the range of ₹17 lakh to ₹22.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Making it competitive against its competitors such as the Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Curvv EV.
Looking Ahead: EV Centric Workshops
Beyond the e-Vitara, Maruti Suzuki’s “e For Me” initiative includes plans to install fast chargers. Launch a dedicated charging app, and introduce six new electric vehicles by 2030.
