2W Sales Report for January 2025: The Indian electric vehicle (EV) revolution continues. January 2025 only cemented the trend, especially within the electric two-wheeler (E2W) space. Even as EVs overall sold 169,931 units, year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth at 17.1%. Sales went up to 97,734 units from 73,651 units in December 2024, thereby registering a highly impressive month-on-month (M-o-M) growth of 33.20%. The E2W market remains top-heavy, with the top 10 OEMs taking a commanding 94% of total sales. This concentration underscores the strength of the established players and the hurdles for new entrants. The “Big Four” Ola Electric, TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto, and Ather Energy, remain the ones that call the shots. They collectively holding 84% of monthly sales with a combined 82,307 units.
Ola Electric
Taking back the throne Ola Electric takes the top position. Which is largely due to a sales spree in the last days of the month.
- The 24,336 units by Ola registered an impressive M-o-M increase of 76.40%.
- However, their Y-o-Y drop is around 25%.
TVS Motor
- TVS Motor with 23,809 units sold has had consistent growth and therefore represents a 55% Y-o-Y increase.

Bajaj Auto
- Bajaj Auto probably has the best performance. 21,310 units represent a whopping 96.0% Y-o-Y growth.
