New powertrains
The 2024 model has two new real-wheel drive powertrains:
- Single Motor: This new variant has a 79.0-kWh battery pack and is expected to have a driving range of up to 293 miles. It has less horsepower and torque than the Twin Motor version.
- Twin Motor: This version has an updated electric motor for better efficiency and an expected driving range of up to 254 miles.
Faster charging
The 2024 model is compatible with 200-kW DC fast charging.
Lower price
The XC40 Recharge Plus variant has a lower starting price than the previous “Single” model.
Over-the-air updates
Volvo’s remote update service, Over-the-Air (OTA), allows you to receive updates without visiting a workshop.
Software updates
Software updates are downloaded in the background via the mobile network and don’t affect safety, certification, emissions, or non-compliance.
